In Preparation for Re-Opening Masses The Diocese is working with a special commission from the provincial government in order to come up a roadmap and rules for the return of public celebrations of Holy Mass. Below are few key items about the future return of Holy Mass that were discussed yesterday during our parish's Finance Council meeting.
All parishioners will likely be required to wear masks to Mass.
Physical distancing and hand sanitizing may be required according to Diocesan guidelines.
Parishioners may need to sign up online, using our parish website, before attending Saturday/Sunday Masses in order to ensure we do not exceed mandated occupancy limits.
Greetings from Father Wojciech and Sacred Heart Parish office staff,
We hope everyone is doing well despite the many changes that have affected all of us over the last few weeks. Please keep safe and know that we are thinking of all of you and keeping you in our prayers.
We recognize that there are streaming Masses from the Diocese, but Father Wojciech would like to offer the opportunity for you to connect to one of his Masses that he celebrates in his kitchen. To do this, you need to be able to connect through FaceTime, unfortunately, only available on Apple devices. If you are interested, please call the Parish office at 403-934-2641, and we will try to schedule a date with you. We are not sure how many people will respond, but we will try to connect with you as soon as we can.
Father Wojciech is looking forward to this opportunity to spend some time with you.
God Bless.

Assistance for those in Need - Knights and CWL
As the crisis caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) flu remains quite fluid, the parish's Catholic Women's League and Knights of Columbus would like you to know that they are available to assist those who may be in acute need. For example, there may be assistance required by some to pickup groceries and prescriptions, do yard maintenance, etc. As a Catholic community, the CWL and Knights are available to serve you, or someone you know who may be in need.
(These groups have been in contact with Strathmore family and community support services to volunteer their assistance, however, the Town is still developing its response plan, and so will be keeping them in the loop for when they can be of help to the wider community.)
Pray the Angelus three times per day. (7am, Noon, 7pm, or when you wake up, at noon, and when you go to bed.
Click here for a 4-page booklet of prayers for Parishioners of Sacred Heart during the COVID-19 pandemic. The booklet includes instructions for praying the Angelus.
Daily Rosary
Many times, and especially after the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal, the Church has commended the practice of praying the Holy Rosary daily as an excellent spiritual practice.
A novena is made up of nine days of prayer and meditation usually to ask God for special prayer requests or petitions. You might desire to pray for a loved one, for protection from illness, for healthcare and emergency personnel, for those out of work or hurting in our economic crisis - for all of these, and many more petitions, there's a novena to be prayed.
Join in the official liturgical prayer of the Church, praying the Psalms and other prayers along with millions of other Catholics, both lay people and religious.
Prayerful reading of Sacred Scripture, that deepens one's love and unity with Jesus Christ by slowly reflecting and "chewing" on His word.
Daily Readings from the Holy Bible
Catholics are encouraged to read from Sacred Scripture every day in order to deepen their faith and grow in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Below are two helpful guides for reading that you may find helpful:
Consecrate Yourself or Your Family to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Personal or family consecration to the Sacred Heart, in which the individual or family, is dedicated to Christ so that he might reign in the hearts of all its members.
As many of you already know, this service, which contains thousands of movies, video series, children's films, audiobooks, podcasts, and e-books, is free for all parishioners.
These are a few recommendations, but they only scratch the surface of what's available. There are so many more excellent things to watch, read and listen to on Formed.org than what I've listed above. Check it out.

St. Thomas Aquinas teaches that God always brings good out of evil. That's why the Dominicans of the Eastern Province in D.C. have launched a live streaming Quarantine Lectures series. They'll keep it going until the quarantine is lifted, offering Catholic wisdom for the 21st Century.
